DCS Empowerment CIC is looking for an inspiring Digital Skills, AI & Digital Wellbeing Trainer to deliver engaging sessions to adults aged 50+ as part of our Midlife Digital Empowerment & Employability Programme .

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about digital inclusion, empowering learners with low digital confidence, and helping people navigate today’s increasingly digital society.

You will introduce learners to essential digital skills, practical AI tools, and healthy digital habits that support independence, wellbeing and employability.

About the Programme

Our 12-week Midlife Digital Empowerment & Employability Programme helps adults aged 50+ develop the digital skills needed to participate confidently in modern life.

Learners gain practical experience using digital tools while exploring:

  • Every day digital-skills
  • AI tools for learning and work
  • Digital safety and online wellbeing
  • Accessing services and opportunities online

The programme focuses on confidence-building, accessibility and practical application.

The Role

We are seeking a trainer who can make technology approachable, relevant and empowering for adults with varying levels of digital confidence.

Delivery will include:

  • Face-to-face sessions across South London boroughs
  • Online delivery via Zoom or similar platforms
  • Preparation and learner support from home

You will work collaboratively with our Employability Tutor and Programme Lead to ensure learners progress confidently through the programme.

What You Will DeliverCore Digital Skills

You will support learners to develop essential digital skills such as:

  • Device basics (laptops, tablets, smartphones)
  • Internet navigation and safe browsing
  • Email set-up and professional communication
  • Creating, saving and uploading documents
  • Google Workspace basics
  • Completing online forms and applications
  • Accessing online services (NHS, DWP, council portals)
  • Using job search platforms

AI for Everyday Life & Employability

You will introduce learners to practical AI tools such as:

  • ChatGPT and similar AI platforms
  • Using AI to support CV writing and job applications
  • Researching information responsibly
  • Drafting emails or formal communication
  • Preparing questions for appointments or interviews
  • Simplifying complex information

A key part of this training is helping learners understand ethical and responsible AI use , including:

  • Accuracy checking
  • Bias awareness
  • Data privacy
  • Understanding AI limitations

The focus is increasing confidence — not dependency.

Digital Wellbeing

Learners will also explore healthy digital habits such as:

  • Managing screen time
  • Online safety and avoiding scams
  • Protecting personal data and privacy
  • Recognising misinformation
  • Social media and mental well-being

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assess learner starting points and digital confidence
  • Adapt sessions for mixed ability groups
  • Track learner progress and outcomes
  • Support learner progression into employment pathways
  • Contribute to programme evaluation and impact reporting

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

✔ Experience delivering digital skills training to adults
✔ Experience supporting digitally excluded learners
✔ Practical experience using AI tools
✔ Ability to explain ethical AI use clearly and responsibly
✔ A recognised assessing qualification (CAVA, A1, TAQA or equivalent)
✔ Experience delivering both face-to-face and online training
✔ Ability to travel across South London boroughs
✔ Strong safeguarding awareness

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS or Level 3+)
  • Experience working with adults aged 50+
  • Experience delivering digital inclusion programmes
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice

Pay & Delivery Structure

Programme delivery includes:

  • 12-week programme cycles
  • 2–3 sessions per week during delivery periods
  • combination of face-to-face South London delivery and online sessions
