Job Title: Expert Business Analyst

Job Location: Canary Wharf

Contract Length: 8 Months

Industry: Oil & Gas

Working Hours: 40 hrs/week

Role Overview:

  • Help select, implement and integrate a new exchange platform to replace existing bp platforms for both third party execution and internal market transactions

  • Collaborate with trading desks to optimise the use of electronic trading platforms such as e-star, Sphirra, Trayport, TT, and others across all bp’s traded commodities

  • Work with front office users to document business processes to trade between business units and communicate required changes to the technical teams

  • Ensure seamless interaction between electronically executed trades and their accurate recording in the ETRM systems (OpenLink Endur + in-house systems)

  • Ensure all compliance related requirements for electronic trading are captured (including for algorithmic execution)

  • Lead stakeholder engagement and requirement elicitation across front office, operations, IT, and compliance teams.

  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and support solution delivery.

  • Apply technical skills to interrogate data using SQL, manage code branching, and collaborate with development teams.

Relevant technical qualifications

Key Skills:

  • Expert in commodity trading processes and understands the behaviour of commodities traded in European gas, power and emissions markets on electronic avenues (futures, forwards, options etc)

  • Has worked on both exchange integration systems (e.g.-star, Sphirra) before as well as knowledgeable in ETRMs

  • Understands Compliance monitoring requirements of electronic trading · Exposure to /algorithmic execution

  • Strong BA skills in terms of stakeholder management, requirement elicitation etc

  • Decent technical skills (e.g. understands SQL, code branching etc.)
