Contract Description

Contract: Part time, fixed amount of hours / week - 4 (Graduate / Early Career)

About the role

We are looking for a graduate or final-year student to join us as a Data Strategist with strong UX sensibilities and some app development experience. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data, design, and digital products, and who wants to see their work used in real-world decision-making environments.

You will work closely with senior leadership on the design and development of data-driven dashboards, digital tools, and applied analytics, with a strong focus on usability, clarity, and impact. The role also involves supporting data strategy, basic analytical modelling, and translating those models into working digital applications.

About SensFish

SensFish is a data and intelligence platform focused on marine, coastal, and water systems, supporting evidence-based decision-making for sustainability, infrastructure, and investment. We work on active projects across Scotland, Europe, and internationally, combining environmental data, analytics, and digital tools to understand risk, performance, and long-term resilience.

About you

You are likely:

  • A recent graduate or final-year student in data science, computer science, UX/design, engineering, information systems, or a related field
  • Curious, open-minded, and creative, with an interest in solving real-world problems
  • Friendly, collaborative, and comfortable working in small teams
  • Willing to learn, take feedback, and develop new skills over time
  • Responsible and reliable, able to deliver work on time and as agreed
  • Aligned with our values of integrity, curiosity, and responsible use of data and technology
  • Comfortable working with data, digital tools, and user-centred design approaches
  • Able to explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical audiences

What we offer

  • A genuine graduate learning role with exposure to strategy, leadership, and product development
  • Meaningful, real-world projects (not hypothetical exercises)
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Mentorship and skill development
  • A supportive environment where initiative is encouraged
