About the PricingTeam: 

As one of the fastest growing Insurers in the UK, you will enjoy a fast-paced environment and thrive in a forward-thinking culture. You will be part of a team utilizing advance analytics and machine learning techniques applied in pricing structures. You will be working in collaboration with the data engineering team and the quote engine team to support the bespoke pricing algorithms. 

Your day to day: 

  • Production of high-quality Management Information (MI) and analytical datasets 
  • Development of structured datasets for risk models, including accident month and exposure views 
  • Building clean analytical datasets from complex operational insurance systems 
  • Handling versioned records, mid-term adjustments (MTAs), endorsements, cancellations and renewals 
  • Producing coherent time-based views (e.g. written vs earned, point-in-time vs as-at reporting) 
  • Integrating and reconciling data across multiple source systems into warehouse/reporting layers 
  • Supporting pricing, underwriting and commercial stakeholders with data outputs 
  • Translating business questions into structured SQL logic without heavy specification 
  • Documenting data logic clearly to ensure reusability and continuity post-contract 
  • Supporting automation and scheduling of regular data production 

Who are you: 

  • Proven experience working directly with UK General Insurance data (Motor and/or Home) 
  • Strong understanding of: 
    • Policies, risks and covers 
    • Quotes, renewals, endorsements and cancellations 
    • Claims lifecycle and its relationship to policy exposure 
  • Experience handling transaction-based insurance data structures 
  • Ability to interpret policy lifecycle events into analytical views 

Technical Capability 

  • Advanced SQL skills (clean, structured, reusable code) 
  • Experience building datasets from operational systems with: 
    • Versioned records 
    • Partial histories 
    • Duplicates 
    • Mid-term adjustments 
  • Experience working across multiple data sources feeding warehouses/reporting environments 
  • Familiarity with automation and scheduling tools for recurring data production
