Website/UX Designer at SLI Productions, Remote, £Hourly Rate

Contract Description

We’re looking for reliable freelance web professionals to support ongoing improvements across multiple websites. This is a long-term, in-house–style freelance role, working closely with the director during standard working hours.

You’ll be involved in everything from new website builds to day-to-day design, UX, and technical improvements, helping improve both visual design and user functionality across our sites.

Although this is a self-employed freelance position, we’re looking for people who want to feel part of a small, collaborative team rather than take on one-off tasks.

3 Roles Available (Please state which you’re applying for):

1. Website Assistant / Web Designer

· Work closely with the director to plan and implement improvements across 10 existing websites

· Proactively identify design and functionality improvements

· Carry out tasks set by the director and use your own initiative to suggest enhancements

2. SEO Manager

· Create and manage SEO plans aligned with business goals

· Share strategies and ideas with the director, who will help shape overall direction

· Focus on improving visibility, rankings, and performance across key websites

3. Web Developer

· Build new websites and landing pages

· Support development work on existing sites

· Assist with technical improvements, fixes, and scalability

Key Skills (depending on role)

· Strong experience with WordPress

· Confident coding in PHP

· Comfortable working with FTP, theme adjustments, and hardcoded changes

· Solid understanding of UX and user-focused design (for design roles)

· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently

Example Ad Hoc Tasks

· Fixing broken or non-functioning forms

· Adjusting existing WordPress themes via FTP and PHP

· Resolving errors and technical issues as they arise

· Making ongoing design and usability improvements

Working Hours & Availability

· 15–20 hours per week

· 80% of hours must be worked during standard working hours (9am–5pm)
(Exact schedule is negotiable)

· You will be working closely with the director during these hours, so availability and communication are essential

Requirements

· UK-based only

· Self-employed / freelance

· Comfortable working with a sole trader / small limited company

· Reliable, proactive, and happy working as part of a small team

Pay & Contract

· £15–£20 per hour, depending on experience

· Part-time, freelance, remote role
