Riviera Travel is embarking on a major transformation of our core Reservations Platform, one of the most critical systems in our award‑winning tour operator business. To support this journey, we’re looking for a Data Migration & Reporting Lead to take ownership of the full data and reporting workstream, ensuring a seamless transition from legacy systems to our new platform with zero loss of integrity, continuity, or insight.

About the role

You will lead the end‑to‑end design and execution of the data migration and reporting strategy for the Reservations Platform replacement. Your role is to deliver a phased, controlled transition that protects data quality, maintains reporting continuity, and supports business critical MI throughout the migration.

You’ll also work in parallel with our Data Platform Transformation Programme identifying interdependencies, aligning data models, and ensuring reuse of data assets and ETL services wherever possible.

This role is central to Riviera’s operational success during the transition and will suit someone who thrives in complex, multi system environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Review existing business data to assess quality, completeness, and consistency
• Develop a clear data cleansing and migration strategy aligned with project goals
• Defining and commissioning data extraction, transformation, and loading services from the internal data engineering team
• Plan and manage the full data migration lifecycle from legacy systems to the new platform
• Define and document the data mapping between old and new systems
• Ensure data is migrated securely, accurately, and auditably
• Validate data synch between legacy and new platforms to enable transitional working
• Work with business teams to validate and reconcile cleansed and migrated data
• Identify, define and commission the extraction, anonymisation, provisioning and refresh of data for consumption in system testing, User Acceptance Testing, end-to-end Business Testing and User Training

Skills, Experience & Competencies

• Strong experience managing data migration on large-scale IT projects
• Proven ability to assess data quality and develop cleansing strategies
• Practical knowledge of data ETL and Reporting tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SSIS, PowerBI.
• Technical capability to perform source data analysis to inform data flow documentation and develop technical requirements for data feed changes
• Technical capability to analyse and reconcile reporting outputs to provide assurance of continuity and integrity as data sources migrate from legacy to new transaction systems
• Practical experience of post-migration data validation and remediation
• Good understanding of data structures, formats, and mapping techniques
• Experience working with legacy systems and modern cloud-based platforms
• Strong planning and organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to produce clear documentation and audit trails for data migration activities
• Familiarity with data security and compliance requirements
• Familiarity with development & test management tools e.g. (Azure DevOps, Jira)
