AWS DevOps Engineer at SS Technologies, Remote, from £250 per day

AWS DevOps Engineer ( Active SC Cleared )

We are looking for experienced Senior DevOps Engineers to help build and evolve cloud-native, scalable and highly automated platforms on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This role involves taking strong ownership, driving automation-first delivery, and supporting engineering teams across product squads to build resilient, secure and maintainable AWS infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains (GitLab CI preferred)

• Build highly available, scalable and resilient AWS cloud solutions

• Drive automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and scripting (Shell / Ansible)

• Provision, configure and manage AWS cloud-based applications and environments

• Implement and support containerised and cloud-native workloads on AWS

• Provision and manage environments using DevOps and SRE best practices

• Troubleshoot, support and optimise infrastructure, pipelines and deployments across environments

• Promote engineering ownership, security, operational integrity and DevOps culture across teams

• Contribute to proofs-of-concept, Test & Learn initiatives, and strategic platform decisions

Core Skills & Experience (Required)

• Strong AWS cloud platform engineering experience

• Terraform & Infrastructure as Code

• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred)

• Unix/Linux experience with Shell scripting

• Ansible for configuration management and automation

• Experience supporting AWS cloud-based applications

• Agile ways of working (Scrum / Kanban)

Nice to Have / Highly Desirable

• Experience with container platforms (Docker / Kubernetes / ECS / EKS)

• Exposure to event-driven or streaming platforms (e.g. Kafka)

• Experience mentoring or guiding engineers

• AWS security, networking or reliability best practices knowledge
