We’re seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Freelance IT Technician Tutor to deliver high-quality, engaging training for IT Technician qualifications, including the Digital Support Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard. Join our forward-thinking training organisation and support learners in developing the technical and professional skills required for IT support and digital service roles.

Role Overview

You’ll deliver a mix of practical and theoretical training aligned to IT Technician frameworks and the Digital Support Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard. Teaching areas will include IT hardware and software support, operating systems (Windows/Linux), networking fundamentals, cloud basics, cybersecurity principles, incident and problem management, customer support, and professional behaviours.

You’ll work with small learner cohorts (up to 10 learners), supporting apprentices and learners to develop job-ready technical skills, industry knowledge, and workplace behaviours required to succeed in IT support roles.

As a freelance tutor, you must have all delivery preparation completed in advance, including a Scheme of Work, Lesson Plans, and learner activities, mapped to qualification and apprenticeship standards. Please note that lesson preparation is not additionally remunerated.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an IT Technician, IT Support, or Digital Support role
  • Strong knowledge of Level 3 IT Technician curricula and the Digital Support Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, operating systems, networking, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Familiarity with tools such as Active Directory, Microsoft 365, ticketing systems, and remote support tools
  • Previous teaching, tutoring, or apprenticeship delivery experience
  • Teaching qualification and relevant instructional certification (required)
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and learner engagement skills
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree qualification (required)
