As a PMO Analyst you will be working as part of a high-performing Digital PMO helping to deliver first class PMO services to our clients.

 

Reporting directly to the PMO Lead, you will work alongside a team of industry respected PMO Analysts, Consultants, Planners, Toolchain and Finance and Commercial specialists to ensure the PMO adds value through the facilitation of regular programme assurance, effective reporting, understanding overarching financials, risks, issues, and dependencies, and supporting the project and programme delivery teams through guidance on governance and best practice.

 

Main Duties

  • Works closely with responsible Project/Programme manager to establish strong monitoring and reporting engine for its areas of expertise (e.g. Finance, Schedule, Risk Management etc)]
  • Proactively report and challenge overall Project/Programme progress, clearly articulating and/or escalating risks and issues ensuring the appropriate actions are taken and sufficient levels of control are in place
  • Advocates best Project Management practices, ensuring the assigned programme is adhering to methodology and governance
  • Ensures effective communication with all stakeholders across the Digital PMO, Project Managers and Programme Managers regarding the delivery status of the assigned programme or projects
  • Ensures that project deliverables/artefacts have been reviewed and signed off by Key Stakeholders in accordance with the methodology
  • Ensures that Project Managers manage a detailed Project plan and document dependencies where applicable
  • Ensures that all risks, issues, change requests, actions and dependencies of Projects and Programmes are actively managed
  • Ensures that all mandatory artefacts are collated, version controlled and stored appropriately
  • Produce quality reports and presentations for the Programme or Project to ensure accuracy and to the required timescales
  • Collate reporting for Change governance forums, ensuring high standards of accuracy and excellence to support executive reporting
  • Work in partnership with the Programme and Project delivery teams, offering guidance to ensure the programmes are adhering to Policy Standards within the Governance Framework
  • Proactively identify and suggest opportunities for improvements to and optimisation of PMO processes, policies, and practices
  • Support PMO peer group through knowledge-sharing
  • Act as generalist across PMO scope of work and/or a specialist in one of the areas:

o Project Financial Controller

o Project Scheduler/Planner

o Project Risk Manager

o Project Resource Manager

o Project Procurement Manager

  • AGILE-related responsibilities (where applicable):

o Act as a Scrum Master, manages Scrum team, delivers value, supports Product Owner

o Acts as a Product Owner, manages activity backlog, ensures value delivery

o Acts as a Kanban Management Professional, design a Kanban system and evolve and scale it beyond the team.

  • Be an advocate for best practice to facilitate adherence to the change management policy standards, ensuring the assigned programme is adhering to methodology and governance
  • Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders across the Digital PMO, Project Managers and Programme Managers regarding the delivery status of the assigned programme or projects
  • Proactively report and challenge overall programme progress, clearly articulating and/or escalating risks and issues ensuring the appropriate actions are taken and sufficient levels of control are in place
  • Ensure that project deliverables/artefacts have been reviewed and signed off by Key Stakeholders in accordance with the methodology
  • Ensure Project Managers manage a detailed Project Specific Plan (PSP) and document dependencies where applicable
  • Ensure that all risks, issues, actions and dependencies of Projects and Programmes are actively managed
  • Ensure that all mandatory artefacts are collated, version controlled and stored appropriately
  • Produce quality reports and presentations for the Programme or Project to ensure accuracy and to the required timescales
  • Collate reporting for Change governance forums, ensuring high standards of accuracy and excellence to support executive reporting
  • Work in partnership with the Programme and Project delivery teams, offering guidance to ensure the programmes are adhering to Policy Standards within the Governance Framework
  • Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues within PMO to proactively identify and influence changes to improve PMO service and processes to ensure a consistent approach across the business

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master degree, with a preference for a Business, Legal or Technology degree or, instead, 4 years of relevant experience
  • Previous PMO and/or Projects experience (1-2 years) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (eg PMI, Prince) including Agile
  • Previous experience managing project finance and or schedule is an advantage
  • Recommended certificates:
  • PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional)
  • PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional)
  • Kanban Management Professional (KMP)

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of MS Project and/or other scheduling tools is a plus
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to build strong relationships across cultures
  • Knowledge of and experience of implementing best practice PMO solutions to drive a high-performance culture an advantage
