What you’ll do

 

  • Actively promoting DevOps ways of working and SRE best practices within the teams
  • Work with DevOps/Platform Engineers, Developers, Architecture and Security to design, plan, implement and release necessary changes according to the needs of the business.
  • Working with other DevOps/Platform Engineers in providing templates and knowledge that facilitates smooth automation process through out a project lifecycle
  • Support continuous improvement in processes, tooling, and system architecture of the underlying infrastructure and capabilities.
  • Work on everything from transitioning on-prem services into Azure cloud (PaaS and IaaS services), helping move to and maintain orchestrated container-based service architecture (Azure Kubernetes and Docker).
  • Add, improve and maintain modules in our Terraform & PowerShell module library
  • Create and maintain robust monitoring and alerting solutions of applications, networks, data and infrastructure services. Assist in the creation of reports/dashboards for usage and up-time.
  • Manage and monitor system health to ensure that issues are quickly identified and resolved
  • Collaborate with the IT operations and development teams to plan and execute system changes e.g., security and audit controls as required by the business or compliance requirements
  • Automate build and release manual activities using DevOps best practices
  • Create guides and documentation for the development team to operate and maintain products.
  • Participate in incident management. Prioritise incidents to help deliver within SLAs. Carry out strong diagnosis to discover root cause and resolutions. Provide out of hours support on a rota basis throughout the year
  • Help manage resources efficiently through efficient capacity planning and scaling of service

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Practical experience with Azure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), DevOps pipelines, and networking.
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Packer) and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, SQL, KQL).
  • Experience with CI/CD, integrating security and code quality tools.
  • Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), including Azure-managed environments.
  • Experience designing, securing, and testing APIs.
  • Strong understanding of security controls across infrastructure, applications, and data, including WAF and SSDLC practices.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
  • Experience with BCP and disaster recovery for on-prem or cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and familiarity with Agile and operations best practices.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Boards and building integrations using Azure services.
  • Ability to support full project lifecycles from design to delivery.
