Job Title: ServiceNow CMDB Administrator

Location: Canary Wharf, UK

Hybrid (2 days a week)

Contract (6+ Months) Inside IR35

 

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in implementing and supporting ServiceNow Agent and Agentless Horizontal Discovery, Service Mapping, and CSDM (Common Service Data Model). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CMDB best practices, discovery architecture, and service modeling, along with relevant ServiceNow certifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • CMDB Administration & Governance: Manage and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with organizational standards. Define and enforce CMDB policies, procedures, and data quality rules.
  • Discovery & Service Mapping: Implement and support ServiceNow Horizontal Discovery (Agent and Agentless) for infrastructure and application components. Configure and maintain Service Mapping to accurately represent business services and dependencies. Troubleshoot discovery issues and optimize patterns for performance and accuracy.
  • CSDM Implementation: Align CMDB structure with CSDM framework and ensure proper data modeling for services, applications, and infrastructure. Collaborate with stakeholders to map business services to technical components.
  • Integration & Automation: Work with integration teams to ensure smooth data flow between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems. Automate CMDB processes where applicable using ServiceNow workflows and scripts.
  • Support & Continuous Improvement: Provide ongoing support for CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping modules. Monitor CMDB health and implement improvements for data quality and operational efficiency.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB administration, Discovery (Agent & Agentless), and Service Mapping.
  • Strong understanding of CSDM principles and implementation best practices.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting discovery patterns, probes, and sensors.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and configuration management principles.
  • Experience in scripting (JavaScript, Glide API) within ServiceNow is a plus.

 

Certifications (Mandatory)

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow Discovery Fundamentals or Service Mapping Fundamentals
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – CMDB (preferred)

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ITOM Suite (Event Management, Orchestration).
  • Knowledge of cloud discovery (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Exposure to integration tools (MID Server, APIs).
