About Arden Web

We are a dynamic web development agency based in Beeston. We are shifting our development focus toward modern, performance-first WordPress sites. We are moving away from heavy page builders and embracing the native Block Editor (Gutenberg) ecosystem.

The Role

We are looking for a talented WordPress Builder who combines technical know-how with a creative design eye. You won’t just be converting rigid designs into code—you will be taking client briefs and building beautiful, functional layouts directly in the browser using modern block-based themes.

We are looking for someone to start on a per-project basis, with the aim of building a long-term working relationship or permanent role for the right person.

What You’ll Do

• Build: Create fast, lightweight websites using the WordPress Block Editor.
• Design: Interpret client requirements and create professional, visually appealing layouts without needing a pixel-perfect design file provided beforehand.
• Configure: Customize modern WordPress base themes (e.g., Kadence, Astra, GeneratePress, or FSE themes).
• Collaborate: Work closely with the team in our Beeston office (hybrid working available).

What We Need From You

• Strong Design Eye: You understand whitespace, typography, and layout hierarchy. You can make a page look ʺfinishedʺ and professional without a designer holding your hand.
• Block Editor Mastery: You are comfortable using Gutenberg and third-party block libraries to build complex layouts.
• Theme Experience: Familiarity with lightweight, modern WordPress base themes.
• Communication: Ability to discuss requirements and work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.

Confidentiality & White Labeling

• Agency Representative: You will be working as a ʺWhite Labelʺ partner. All work produced is on behalf of Arden Web.
• Non-Solicitation: You must respect our client relationships. A standard Non-Disclosure and Non-Solicitation agreement will be required prior to starting work.

Nice to Have (But Not Essential)

• Basic knowledge of CSS for custom styling tweaks.
• Basic understanding of JS/jQuery.
• Experience creating reusable Block Patterns or Global Styles (though we can teach our specific workflows).

Pay: £13.50-£25.00 per hour
