Role Description:

This is a project-based, part-time, outside-lR35 remote opportunity for an experienced front-end Drupal Developer at ORION WEB. The front-end Drupal Developer will be responsible for building new and expanding existing Drupal themes and related functionality.

Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing best practices in web development and ensuring high quality and accessibility of Drupal (mostly 11, 10, 9) websites.

Please note that we require you to be based in the UK or an EMEA Time Zone (UTC 0 to UTC +3 or similar) to ensure coverage during core UK working hours.

Contract market rates offered based on seniority.

Required Proficiency in:

• Writing well-documented, standardised, scalable and high-performing code
• Web accessibility standards and compliance including WCAG
• Drupal theming, Drupal templating, Twig, preprocessing, styling
• Converting designs to mobile-first, responsive templates
• Drupal Layout Builder, block types, layouts
• HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS), JavaScript (ES6+), jQyery, modern frameworks (React, Vue.js, etc.)
• Performance optimisation (caching, lazy loading, media management etc.)
• Node JS, npm, yarn, theme dependencies, theme compiling
• Theme development for Headless/Decoupled Drupal
• Local development using containers (Docker, Lando)
• Drush, DDEV, Composer, Configuration Management, Drupal APls
• Working with hosting providers including AWS, Upsun (Platform SH), Acquia
• Stakeholder & team collaboration

Nice to have:

• PHP, MySQL (Full-Stack developers can apply too)
• Experience in the digital agency field
• Experience in front-end development for fintech and educational websites
• Client-facing experience, translating ideas to requirements
• Experience in front-end development for CRM projects (HubSpot, CiviCRM)
• Mentoring experience
