We're looking for 4 Testers to work on a central government project in South London. The work requires hands on testing and automation, and successful suppliers will need to demonstrate their approach to exploratory and automated API checking and testing. Location: On-site with clients in Croydon. Initial Statement of Work: The initial statement of work will include: Rapidly extend coverage of existing API automated checks on the clients CQRS/event-driven case management system using the existing toolkit (RestEasy/RestAssured, JUnit, JavaEE). Assess and extend where appropriate automated integration checks utilising the applications message queues (ArtemisMQ) and underlying event-stores and view-stores (Postgres). Extend OWASP automated coverage as the API coverage expands utilising existing tools in the programmes toolkit (ZAProxy and appropriate NVD integration). Review other suppliers automated checking code through Gerrit and Git. Submit all code through appropriate code review processes (Gerrit and Git). Integrate expanded API automated checks into the Azure based Jenkins pipelines. Support application release cycles by executing Back End automated checks, debugging and analysing the results utilising the existing toolkits (Jenkins, Azure, ELK stack, AppDynamics and Zabbix). Suppliers will demonstrate the following technical capabilities as part of their application: Significant Java experience, application development experience beyond automation is an excellent advantage. Testing and automating RESTful applications, with experience in tools like RestAssured or RestEasy. Soap UI or other GUI based tools are not sufficient. Demonstrable experience of t esting asynchronous applications. Significant experience of managing test data automatically across multiple complex applications at the API level. Experience of testing systems that use message queues (like ArtemisMQ, RabbitMQ or JMS). Experience with tooling like ZAProxy. Experience debugging and investigating applications using things like the ELK stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana), AppDynamics/Zabbix and Azure insights. Experience of working in a Continuous Integration environment, using Git. Experience of working with Test Strategies that span multiple teams, suppliers and external departments. Suppliers with the following additional technical skills will be at an advantage: Experience of working on JavaEE applications. Experience of working on a project assessed by the Government Digital Service. Experience of working in a Continuous Delivery or Deployment environment. Experience of working in a DevOps environment using Azure and Jenkins. Completion of the Rapid Software Testing course. Experience of testing and automating CQRS and event driven systems. Experience of working with Gerrit. Cultural fit: Suppliers should demonstrate the following skills: Experience of working in an agile way. Hands-on testing experience. Leading delivery teams to understanding what to test, what to automate and how to deliver quality software. Suppliers with the following skills will be at an advantage: Experience of running Three Amigos/Power of Three/Story Kick-offs. Experience with Test Charters/Session Based Testing. Visa Requirements: Supplier staff must have an existing right to work in the UK; no offshore applicants will be considered. Clearance Requirements: Supplier staff must be able to achieve BPSS Rates: £400-500pd depending on proposals. Starting: April 1, 2020. IR35 status: These statements of work are outside of IR35. As such, suppliers are expected to provide their own equipment, licenses and bear all expenses (travel, accommodation etc) associated with fulfilling the issued statement of work. Suppliers will require appropriate indemnity, employers and legal insurance cover. Suppliers are expected to support service delivery on site with the client due to security restrictions on the programme. Duration: The project that is funded into 2022. We will establish a framework agreement with successful suppliers and issue an initial 3-month outcomes-based statement of work against it.
