E-Learning Developer – Inside IR35

Contract Term: 6 Months

Contracting Authority: MoD

Location: Shrivenham, 1 day per week in office

Description:

The Defence Academy requires an elearning developer to increase its current capability in supporting the Defence Academy’s Project STARLING, which is the digitalisation of knowledge-based learning content for wider access across the MOD.

You will be working to SO1 eLearning Content Development (eDT) and will require the following skills and experience:

  • Good working knowledge of concepts and software to practitioner level in:
  • Visual Design Ability: visual design (particularly typography); interface design; and content creation.

TEL expertise:

  • accessible, responsive elearning development;
  • a rapid authoring tool (Articulate Rise / Storyline);
  • Moodle and H5P;
  • HTML5/CSS (Bootstrap);
  • audio/video production;
  • Pedagogical understanding eg: andragogy
  • Compliance: Accessibility guidelines – WCAG 2.1; Copyright compliance

 

Good working knowledge to practitioner level in:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud with specific skills according to requirement in:
  • Video – Premiere
  • Audio – Audition
  • Animation – Adobe After Effects, Animate
  • Acrobat

 

Good team working skills:

  • you should be comfortable working within a small team of specialists;
  • you should also be prepared to share knowledge, support your eDT colleagues and wider Defence Academy staff when required.
  • Accurate written communications skills and attention to detail
  • This role requires the ability to review and edit written content.
  • Good IT and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
