Purpose of role
To undertake key Project Management Office activities to support the successful delivery of the firm's technology projects portfolio (approx. 35 projects and annual budget of £8m). Key responsibilities include:
- To support and actively contribute towards a diverse team of Project Managers by ensuring that Project Managers follow the Linklaters' defined project management methodology (for example use appropriate project templates, have the right documentation in place) and provide guidance where needed (e.g. for new joiners)
- Ensuring the timely submission of project documentation, i.e. status reports, gateway documents
- Reviewing status reports to determine project status, being proactive in seeking clarifications from Project Managers and escalating issues / concerns to PMO manager or Head of Project Management as needed.
- Generating portfolio information, including portfolio tracker, deployment plans, dashboard, TLT presentations.
- Supporting the successful running of the technology projects governance group (Portfolio Management Board) by preparing the agenda, board papers and submissions as well as following up on any actions.
- Moderation of project finances, including accruals and transaction reports.
- Undertaking ad hoc analysis/activities as needed. For example, end of year analysis on number of projects delivered, performance against key metrics such as time and cost.
- Preparing for and running a project deep dives schedule to support quality assurance activities in the portfolio.
- Attendance at ORB and ensuring project managers adhere to Service Transition processes.
- Maintaining and updating project portfolio pipeline.
- Working with Innovation and Strategy portfolios / PMOs to ensure alignment of processes, templates and knowledge.
