C# Developer (6 month contract - Outside IR35)

Purpose of the job

The development team is responsible for looking after our strategic platform which supports our core Insurance functions.

As a developer, you’ll be a key member of this team which delivers functionality using the Agile delivery methodology. You will be responsible for upgrading our services to, supporting our releases and developing new services and APIs which enhance the existing Platform.

You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and experience all aspects of a development lifecycle. You will support the Product Owner in delivering functionality which supports more efficient operations, an improved customer experience and a platform for growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high quality code which is optimised for performance
  • Delivering applications using Agile delivery methodology
  • Self-starter driven by quality and attention to detail
  • Ensuring there are unit tests and integration tests which are of a high quality
  • Working with both technical and non-technical team members to provide features and functionality on their applications
  • Providing API documentation
  • Working closely with the Analysts and QAs to provide high quality acceptance criteria
  • Ensuring User Stories are understood, estimated and implemented correctly
  • Supporting our Continuous Integration pipelines

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Required:

  • Solid experience with .NET Web stack (C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API)
  • Front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular, Javascript, JSON)
  • Ability to develop and execute integration / unit tests to ensure and maintain code quality (NUnit, Moq, Specflow)
  • Database technologies (SQL Server)
  • Experience working in a collaborative Agile team
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented software analysis and design methodology experience
  • Personable, enthusiastic and a good communicator
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Passionate about technology – willingness to learn about new and emerging technology within web, cloud, languages, frameworks and methodologies

Advantageous:

  • Azure Cloud Technologies (App Service, Logic Apps, SQL Database)
  • Experience with developing on .NET Core
  • Experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines (Octopus Deploy, TeamCity)
  • Caching technologies (Redis)
  • AWS Cloud Technologies (EC2, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, CloudWatch, ECM, Docker)
  • API Documentation (Swagger)
  • BDD and supporting technologies
  • Other technologies and tools: Powershell, Jira
