Contract Description

Role Title: Project Manager 

Contract Length: 6-month contract 

Engagement Type: PAYE or Umbrella 

Location:  Watford/Remote 

This role sits within the Operational Excellence Hubs (OEH) within KPMG Business Services. 

Role Overview:  

OEH is responsible for delivering business services such as Finance, HR, and Risk (monitoring the firm’s and its individuals’ compliance with the firm’s professional risk management and quality control policies). Work is ongoing to review our service delivery model across parts of OEH, with a view to transforming the mix of onshore and offshore delivery.   This role is for a project manager to manage a transition programme, with overall accountability for ensuring that the project is delivered in full on time and within budget and a particular focus on communication and change management. 

Key Deliverables and Accountability: 

  • Work with all key stakeholders onshore and offshore to understand the nature of the change required 
  • Work with offshore team to develop and communicate detailed project plans for the transition programme
  • Develop change management plan
  • Manage communications across multiple stakeholders and teams to ensure the project plan is clearly set out and understood
  • Support SMEs in creating detailed process maps and operating instructions for the new team to use
  • Work closely with the offshore team and support SMEs in designing required training for the new team 

The Person – Qualifications, Skills and Behaviours 

  • Experienced project manager able to run projects from start to finish, identifying required tasks, planning, prioritising, and hitting deadlines  
  • Excellent project management skills with attention to detail and ability to hold others to account whilst working collaboratively 
  • Highly effective communication skills require an impactful persuasive style to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders and ensure clarity around deliverables 
  • Quick learner with ability to build understanding of operational detail in impacted areas 
  • Potentially hold an appropriate qualification for project and/or programme management such as Prince 2, Agile, SCRUM or MSP  
  • Previous experience of working with Operations teams - ideally with exposure to compliance/regulatory work 
  • Detailed understanding of standard operating procedures (SOPs), process mapping and service delivery models 
  • Expertise of managing programmes to transition work between teams, with experience of working with an offshore team 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc 
  • Experience in facilitating meetings, conducting effective briefings and presentations, and developing consensus (both internally and externally) with people who reflect diversity in objectives 
  • Well-developed analytical skills ensuring data led decision are made 
  • Have a Lean mindset and approach, looking to continuously improve processes reducing non-value add activity 
  • Have a focus on quality and right first-time approach in everything they do
