Contract Description

Main duties :

As a Environments Manager, you will be responsible for -

·Environments & Build Management

·Deployment & Build Management of Customs Border &International (CB&I) components.

·Provision and end to end management of CB&I AWS environments

·Resolution of environment issues

·Continuous improvement of delivery pipelines

·Fulfilment of application and infrastructure build requests

You will:

·make sure that the infrastructure is available within service level agreements (SLAs) and operational level agreements (OLAs) and is functioning as designed

·maintain patching levels and the security of the information

·carry out activities in incident, problem, change and configuration management and continual service improvement (CSI) processes

Skills and Experience:

·Excellent understanding of Technical IT Environment Management planning, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.

·Strong commercial awareness including 3rd party supplier and software licencing implications associated with environment provisioning and support.

·Whole project lifecycle experience, working with Project Managers and Architects from initial conceptual design to testing and deployment into live.

·Thorough understanding of ITIL Processes, specifically Change Management, Release Management and Configuration Management

·Exposure to automated deployment and configuration tools

·Information security - Understands information security and the types of security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services.

·IT infrastructure - supports infrastructure technologies, solutions and services such as: compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructures, software, commercial off the shelf (COTS) and open source packages and solutions, virtual and cloud including PaaS, SaaS.

·Ownership and initiative - Owns an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.

·Service focus - Takes inputs and establishes coherent frameworks that work.

·Systems integration - Defines the integration build. Able to co-ordinate build activities across systems and understands how to undertake and support integration testing activities.

·Technical understanding - Has deep understanding of the technical concepts required in their role and understands how these fit into the wider technical landscape.

·Testing - Able to review requirements, specifications and define test conditions. Able to identify issues and risks associated with work whilst being able to analyse and report test activities and results.

·Troubleshooting and problem resolution - Able to dissect a problem to its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes
