Technical Writer (VPN and Cybersecurity) at Comparitech, Remote, £Freelance Rate

We 're looking for a talented writer with a passion for all things digital to join our crack team of VPN and cybersecurity researchers and writers.

Day-to-day you 'll produce world-class reviews, features and buying advice around consumer VPNs and other internet privacy tools. You 'll also be using and testing VPN services on a daily basis, helping our readers choose the best possible services for their needs.

A background in writing about VPNs, cybersecurity or consumer technology is essential.

You will have a critical, journalistic mind and be able to spot trends and generate ideas that will be of interest to our audience. More than just a writer, we 're looking for somebody that eats and breathes consumer tech and is ready to take our VPN content to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

• Testing and reviewing consumer VPNs - which are fastest, most secure, easiest to use on mobile, the best for streaming TV and sports etc.
• Creating, editing, updating and improving our VPN guides, reviews and consumer advice
• Staying abreast of industry news, trends and developments
• Essential Skills & Experience
• Professional writing experience in the technology sector
• A genuine interest in the cybersecurity sector and/or Internet privacy
• A working knowledge of how consumer VPNs function, what they can (and can 't) do
• Basic understanding of SEO best practices
• Ability to translate complex technological terminology into consumer-friendly, jargon-free copy
• Fantastic organisational skills and the ability to deliver consistently high quality content remotely

This is a freelance position, but we are looking for someone that can commit to our organisation at least 30 hours per week on an ongoing basis. Remuneration is negotiable and dependent on experience.
