Department Overview

The Market Data Analytics Team is part of the FI FM Risk department, a team of approx. 60 people supporting a wide area of businesses within Financial Markets and Group Treasury. The Market Data Analytics team is responsible for all aspects of market data used by the FIFM Risk department including market risk, product control, and counterparty credit risk.


The department's core activity is measuring, analysing, and validating the movement in market parameters, such as interest rates/vols, equity spot/vols, credit spreads and FX rates/vols as well as developing and maintaining a new reference and market data dashboard integrated with pricing and risk platforms. The team is responsible for market data proxying/deriving models and the maintenance of market data time series.


Job Specification

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

  • Daily market data validation & reporting, defined by the Market Data Replacement & Proxy Policy
  • Maintaining market data proxy models and generating proxied histories where required
  • Understanding the flow of market data for MRM and its transformations.
  • Dealing with market data structure queries from Audit.
  • For at least one business line, understanding the market data drivers and market risk profile of the products, strategies and portfolios
  • Work with different teams within the department and liaise with the front office.
  • Running the existing processes and working on improvements by employing automation
  • Conducting analysis on large data sets, processes and technology systems
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and partners distributed in different regions and teams


Candidate Profile



  • Graduate (at least 2:1 degree) in relevant field


  • Professional qualification (e.g. PRM, FRM)




  • At least 2 years' experience in MRM or Product Control function.


  • Knowledge of market data or financial services is a plus
  • Knowledge of risk management, including VaR, greeks, and FRTB
  • Advanced Excel, programming (Java/Python), SQL and/or data experience
  • Previous data science experience within a quantitative role
  • Experience with Market Data APIs (e.g. Refinitiv RFA/UPA/Elektron APIs) is useful
  • Experience with systems such as Summit, Murex, Bloomberg, Markit, Reuters, ActivePivot.
