We are looking for an experienced bilingual English / French Project Manager to support our Bids Team. This is an ongoing freelance position, based remotely with working hours dependent on business need and reporting to Head of Bids based in the UK. A key pre-sales role, which involves working closely with our Associate Directors, Account Managers and Project Managers, (who manage our client accounts) and Senior Consultants / Coaches to develop outstanding proposals and presentations for new business, across new and current clients.

Key Responsibilities

One of the key objectives of the role is to increase our chances of winning business, whilst providing great customer service (both internally and externally).

Bid Resourcing

  • Project manage end to end process for specific bids both English and French language bids
  • Arrange, attend and document bid planning meetings
  • Arrange, attend and document client briefing calls
  • Managing bid portals, expressing interest and loading responses
  • Contributing to the maintenance of central bid libraries (French and English)

Preparation of Proposals and Presentations

  • Project management and taking ownership for bids you are leading on, of all aspects of the bid process, ensuring all stakeholders understand what they are contributing, by when and how
  • Liaise with AD/AMs to clarify bid requirements
  • Develop first draft for proposals and presentations from shell template, clearly signposting where contribution needs to be added
  • Create high quality programme schematics and graphics to bring our proposals to life (following branding guidelines and house styles)
  • Support in the translation, updating and creating of key bid documents for French speaking clients
  • Follow agreed bid processes (for example; setting up opportunities on SharePoint, managing bid documentation etc)
  • When required write sections for bid responses

Other Activities

  • Support other business development activities in the department as agreed with Head of Bids and Bids Project Manager
  • Providing additional support during the development of bespoke new business opportunities
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders across the business
  • With team, regularly re-assess all processes and provide input/recommendations for process improvement
  • As role evolves, tracking, recording and reporting on activity using Dynamics (our CRM system)

Person Specification Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of managing projects and multiple stakeholders and conflicting deadlines
  • International mind-set and excellent understanding of other cultures
  • Experience interacting with senior level decision-makers or executives
  • Experience in a sales/business development/marketing role, preferably in the professional services industry or corporate learning environment
  • Experience of working on bids, tenders, presentations, bidding portals desirable but not essential


  • Sound written communication and grammar skills in both French and English essential, additional languages advantageous
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong personal organisation, planning and prioritisation skills
  • Sound analytical and numeracy skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, a critical eye in terms of accuracy, excellent proofing skills, thoroughness and accuracy when completing any task
  • High levels of skills using Microsoft Office applications - Word and PowerPoint in particular
