Key Purpose
This contract role falls "inside IR35". Contract is for up to 12 months.
Responsible for SQL Database Management and Administration
Key Tasks
- Troubleshooting SQL errors/issues on Production and Development Environments.
- SQL Server Performance Tuning / Optimisation.
- Automation of Administrative Tasks utilising T-SQL and PowerShell.
- Database Design and Architecture.
- Responsible for the security and availability of the SQL Server environment.
- Responsible for SQL licence management and compliance
- Review and improve existing processes, procedures and infrastructure.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Computing or equivalent desirable
- MCP, MCSA or MCSE in Data / Analytics desirable
- SQL Server Administration (performance tuning, optimisation, HA/DR and backups) in versions from 2012 to 2019.
- Experience with other SQL apps such as MySQL and MariaDB
- Knowledge of C# ASP.NET MVC web application development to assist in communication with other developers would be beneficial.
- SQL Server Administration (performance tuning, optimisation, HA/DR and backups)
- Failover Clustering and AlwaysOn Availability Groups
- Exposure with SQL Cloud migration highly desirable
- Agile development
- Exposure to other Microsoft software (SharePoint and Dynamics)
