Senior Content Designer with previous experience with SEO & Communications

We are looking for Senior Content Designer to join us on a contract position, working on one of our government digital transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• SEO expertise essential.
• Comms experience essential
• Identified community - with clear way to introduce new members to the community
• Clear brand, vision and mission for community
• Regular meetups
• Space for community-led communications created
• User needs for comms established
• Comms are co-created with users and iterated with community
• Prototype communications are reviewed and accepted by team
• Clear brand and vision created and shared
• Comms are co-created and iterated with team
• Prototype communications are reviewed and accepted by team
• Content and comms are created, sourced, and iterated in line with team deliverables and milestones for publishing.
• Content and comms is of required (publishable) quality for user consumption (e.g. meets GDS or other applicable standards).
• Content Designers have established working patterns with key policy designers and other stakeholders as required.
• Demonstrates working in 'interpreter' role between policy and digital delivery specialists to facilitate shared understanding and alignment of deliverables.
• Policy designer(s) satisfied that the content created accurately reflects policy intent.
• Publishing process and tooling
• Demonstrates understanding and usage of required tooling and processes to get content published in different sources (e.g. GOV.UK Notify, GitHub).
• Civil servant knowledge transfer
• Support and upskill civil servants as needed throughout the contract.
• Attend relevant community events to aid knowledge transfer.
• Identify opportunities to share knowledge, coach and mentor civil servants.
• SEO Reporting and Analysis
• Provides regular reporting updates on SEO improvements
• Writes recommendations for content changes that contribute to SEO improvements
• Misconduct Unit
