Technical Business Analyst / Product Owner

The Opportunity

NETbuilder is seeking a Technical Business Analyst / Product Owner responsible for defining and prioritising features for product implementation. Working closely with stakeholders across our client's organisation the successful candidate will scope and create roadmaps and requirements and deliver on-time, high-quality software products that align with the business goals they have captured. The candidate will support client's strategy to develop and improve development processes and implement the tactics, within their role, associated with that philosophy and vision.

The candidate will serve as a primary liaison between engineering and client business representatives. The successful candidate must be experienced in managing all aspects of roadmap creation, backlog grooming, and feature and epic refinement. They must also be conversant with documenting these within project management tools, typically Jira and Confluence.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work with our client's line of business owners, architects, and technical engineers to appropriately capture feature requests, use cases, POC requests, and to organise them into properly prioritised user stories, epic backlogs and technical Spikes.
  • Work with stakeholders to create and organise product and epic backlogs.
  • Develop project document deliverables such as user stories, epics, features, documentation, release notes, etc.
  • Provide high-level technical breakdown of user stories to enable engineers to pick up tasks that can be delivered and tested within a Sprint.
  • Support scrum values by adhering to agile principles and practices along with the scrum team's specific approaches.
  • Assist in assessing the scrum maturity of the team and implementing any processes that support the team.

Required skills and experience:

  • Software development or technical background
  • Strong verbal and written communication, strategic planning, and project management skills within an Agile working environment.
  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable working across multiple departments in a deadline-driven environment
  • Active team player, self-starter, and multitasker who can quickly adjust priorities
  • Technical understanding of Azure DevOps, APIs, C#, automated testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Knowledge of project management tools i.e. JIRA
