The DM Technology team is at the core of this – transforming technology into a key business enabler.  DM is investing heavily in Technology through new system capabilities and the development of skilled and experienced technologists.  One of the central pillars of our Technology strategy is the migration of our system integrations to the Azure cloud platform utilising modern technologies to connect the on-premises and cloud platforms to operate at scale.


This role is responsible for the engineering of the core Azure integration platform and associated DevOps capabilities. They will develop, maintain, and enhance the CI/CD pipelines, defining, developing, and maintaining core reusable elements of the platform, and provide engineering excellence to ensure that developers can do their jobs easily.  The team use a modern approach to engineering and techniques like agile, lean, and DevOps to continually improve their effectiveness. To succeed in this role, you will have a combination of a solid development and engineering background and experience in providing DevOps capabilities, preferably in Azure.



  • Define, develop, maintain, and support the core Azure Integrations platform and associated DevOps processes and practices
  • Ensure engineering and DevOps best practice is embedded in the platform and ways of working providing mentoring to other engineers and developers
  • Contribute to the DM Technology Architecture and ensure outcomes delivered by the team are aligned to this architecture and technical debt is minimised
  • Work closely with other teams within Technology and the wider DM business teams to ensure the Integration platforms contribute to delivering business value
  • Act as an influencer and advocate for the platform and DevOps strategy across the team, function, and organisation.

  • Proven experience as an engineer for a relevant technology stack with experience of mentoring other engineers and developers
  • Resilient and collaborative approach working with other teams within technology and business stakeholders to enable those using and developing the integrations’ platforms
  • Able to influence and inspire credibly at all levels, presenting complex technology concepts in a clear & concise way, free from jargon
  • Technical background with previous development and engineering experience including:
    • Azure Apps Services, DevOps CI/CD Pipelines, DevOps Boards, VSTS (Vital)
    • Terraform (Vital), ARM, Biceps (Important)
    • C# or similar (Important)
    • Azure Integrations services including Azure Functions, Service Bus, Logic Apps (Important)
    • Terraform (Vital), ARM, Biceps (Important)
    • Git Repos and GitHub enterprise (Important)
    • SQL, XML (Helpful)
    • Microsoft D365 technologies including BYOD, DMF, X++ (Helpful)
    • Automated Testing tools (Helpful)
  • Proven experience of modern approaches to software development and engineering including agile and DevOps
