IP Migration Engineer at Connect44 Ltd, UK, £Contract Rate

I'm recruiting for IP Migration Engineers who are (NSV) Security Cleared. To do the Migration Preparation, Migration Execution and Post Migration Stability checks. MUST HAVE Working knowledge of Nokia 7750SR CLI, and Cisco (AGN) and Juniper (BNG) CLI. Initial 12 months contract. Remote working (UK ONLY) Daily rate DOE.

The Migration Execution Service comprises of three (3) main activities - Migration Preparation, Migration Execution and Post Migration Stability checks.

Migration Preparation are preparatory tasks and will generally be undertaken in normal business hours, with perhaps the need for extended hours on an as-needed basis depending on the activity being undertaken.

Migration Execution will be undertaken during maintenance windows and as such will be a night-time activity (typically 22.00 to 06.00). It is anticipated that migration windows will be arranged on 4 nights per week (Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs). The number of MWs per night is dependent on the weekly volume target for the relevant Phase.

Post Migration Stability checks will occur post migration execution for a 24-hour period following the completion of the migration event(s). For example if a Migration event is completed at 6.00am on a Tuesday, the 24-hour stability check period runs to 6.00am on the Wednesday.

• Responsible for carrying out the technical tasks as described in the MoPs.
• Initiating and running scripts during the migration.
• Performing migration preparation and post migration validations.
• Advises the BO Migration Leader in the event of a rollback decision being required.
• Provides input to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and improvement plans.
• Carries out troubleshooting for the resolution of any technical issues encountered during migration.
• Supporting technical requests relating to network access activities
• Supporting of any Migration process updating or amendments as required during the project delivery

key skills:

• Proven configuration and troubleshooting expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • IP/MPLS (including routing protocols e.g. BGP and OSPF)
  • Data network testing, particularly transport router networks
  • Procedural knowledge of network operations within a service provider environment
  • Communications and documentation skills
  • Customer facing technical support.
• Working knowledge of Nokia 7750SR CLI, and Cisco (AGN) and Juniper (BNG) CLI.
• Accredited or certified to Nokia NRSII / Cisco CCNP level. (preferred)
