Business Analyst at H M Revenue & Customs (HMRC), Birmingham, £Contract Rate

We are looking for high performing individuals from an analysis or project delivery background.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new HMRC Agent Programme Team. The Agent Consent Remediation project’s objective is to develop tactical solutions to make paper-based and digital agent authorisation routes compliant with UK GDPR. ?It will also review and treat existing agent authorisations held by HMRC. 

As Business Analyst, you will understand and analyse user and business needs to ensure outcomes are aligned with service vision and business strategy by contributing to the link between current and future business models and delivering to the business architecture. You will challenge constructively and act as a critical friend to achieve solutions that are fit for purpose. You will facilitate collaboration and lead effective communication with all stakeholders to support design, build and delivery to meet the user needs.

Responsibilities:

The post holder will be responsible for:

• Lead Requirement gathering – to gather business and user requirements against the clear objectives articulated for the project.
• Lead Process modelling – to map ‘As-Is’ and ‘To-Be’ business processes
• Lead Gap Analysis Evaluate requirements against the present state (where we are) and the target state (where we want to be) and identify opportunities to develop successful business requirements needed to make the transition.
• Lead Business Solution Design – Engage with policy and strategy to ensure business systems, workflows and processes contribute to delivery objectives.

Desirable Criteria:

The successful candidate will need to provide evidence of:

• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and an ability to build strong relationships and work across boundaries in HMRC and beyond
• Experience of working in a fast moving environment where direction needs to be set quickly with limited information
• Previous experience of Requirements gathering and Process re-engineering and the ability to work at pace, through ambiguity.
