We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst for a contract role with NHS Digital. This role is initially until the end of March with extension likely. The role can be based in London or Leeds, but is currently homeworking with minimal obligation for office working, in line with Government guidelines.

 

This role will be supporting core analytical function within the UEC Data Team, Digital Urgent and Emergency Care sub-directorate (DUEC). The DUEC teams are working to solve a set of problems around effective sharing of information across UEC, with technology supporting the seamless flow. This will be achieved by running and maintaining existing live services and products, such as NHS Pathways, 111 Online, Directory of Services and the development of new products or services.

 

 

You will:

  • Be an integral part of the core analytical function, working with a wide range of both internal and external key stakeholders, and responding to operational queries based on the team’s data assets and outputs.
  • Deliver a strategic reporting and analytical service to support operational needs of the Integrated Urgent Care National team.
  • Be responsible for supporting discovery work on defining the requirements and creating specification to support the new strategic solution, end-to end management of the agreed analytical outputs as well as for maintaining existing assets with a focus on data analysis, reports and dashboard production.
  • Have the opportunity to support the development of this new national service working with the IUCDS Reporting Leads and other members of the delivery team (as well as the other Programmes who deliver infrastructure and data engineering element of the new strategic platform) and present the work at various Show & Tells and other relevant stakeholder meetings.

 

You will:

  • Have advanced analytical and requirements gathering skills.
  • Have advanced SQL skills. 
  • Be able to work with large complex data sets, (experience of working with health data is beneficial but not essential).
  • Be able to understand and interpret results from complex analysis, apply the results to the given problem and suggest conclusions to be drawn.
  • Be able to present and explain results of analysis via written and verbal communication.
  • Ideally have experience of data linkage.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to choose content and style to suit the audience, including large groups.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with both external and internal customers and colleagues to understand the work required and present or explain work completed.
  • Have knowledge of data visualisation (desirable).
  • Have experience and aptitude in using a statistical package, e.g. SAS or R (desirable)
  • Have experience of using Python (desirable)
