If this sounds like you then you could be just the person to join our team. Policy Driven Change (PDC) is a key part of Strategic Policy into Delivery within CS&TD.

PDC has specific responsibility for around 60 change projects, delivering the necessary IT systems and associated customer and business changes to support new tax policies announced in the Chancellor’s Budgets. This role offers an opportunity to join a business area with a great deal of opportunity for development. It is an excellent chance to work in a fast paced, project driven environment. Our team delivers policy changes across all of HMRC tax systems, customers and processes. Our project delivery is based on Agile approaches, particularly in respect of the move towards digital platforms for our customers.

The role of the Project Support Officer covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of the project’s objectives. The Project Support Officer enables the smooth running of the project by supporting the Project Manager through the operation of project management processes, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf.

The programme includes a number of high profile and sensitive?policy measures and large-scale changes,?many being delivered?with digital?front ends. This is?a?complex area with many deliveries?intercepting the Personal Tax Account and the Business Tax Account as well as?key infrastructure programmes.?


·Planning and scheduling – Assist with and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling. Be responsible for project planning adhering to the HMRC Planning Standards. Arrange and schedule all project meetings, preparing agendas and associated documents.

·Monitoring and reporting – Assist in maintaining project controls and in producing project reports. Update regular reports and keep the Project Manager aware of any status changes.

·Stakeholder – Engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Establish and maintain the project stakeholder register for internal and external stakeholders. Act as the focal point for project responses to external requests for information.

·Financial control – Assist with the monitor of project spend and contribute to the compilation of budgets. Maintains an accurate asset register for the project.

·Risks & Issues – Maintains an accurate register for the project, adding new and update existing risks and issues as appropriate.
