Release Manager

6 months day rate

 

We are seeking an experienced Release Manager who will report directly to IT Environment Manager (team lead). Sitting in Environment management team, you will be responsible for the management of software releases through various test environment, SIT,UAT,PRE-PROD etc. to production for our critical programme IEP. This role is critical for the programme and at the same time challenging.

 

You will have a strong and successful background in managing a number of enterprise application environments software releases in a complex hybrid cloud/on premise IT architecture. You'll ensure that all application environments of the programme are at right software level as per the testing requirement, and release scope.

 

About The Job

 

What you’ll spend your time doing:
Here’s a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:

 

  • Collaborate with Project teams and Development teams within IEP programme, to document & formulate(where require) release scope, and plan release of project deliverables
  • Document & Track software components of release as per the scope and ensure all environments (route to LIVE) are aligned to it
  • Create and maintain deployment plans, run-books, technical release note across covering software components across multiple delivery teams as per the release schedule
  • Schedule release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release
  • Overall co-ordination and management of all releases and including environment activities
  • Measure and supervise deployment progress to ensure Releases are delivered on time
  • Ensure environment are fit to use from software perspective as per the release for all phases of testing- SIT,UAT, NFT/OAT, PreProd and PROD
  • Setup relevant process required for proper governance of software code releases
  • Support environment build and delivery from release perspective

What you’ll need:

For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to have. These include:

 

  • Strong experience of technical release management covering release co-ordination, planning and delivery in a complex environment
  • Financial Services experience required
  • Experience in building plans that involve multiple virtual teams
  • Understanding of infrastructure and Azure environment (preferably)
  • Should have technical management understanding of Windows 2008/2012/2019, Active Directory, Team Foundation Server (TFS), IIS, Databases (MS SQL) etc.
  • Exposure to automated deployment and configuration tools. Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts
  • Experience of working within a pressured and Agile environment Practical experience of multiple delivery tools: MS Project, Jira, Confluence and how to best to apply them
