Contract Description

You must have an interest in and knowledge of the relevant product space, with an awareness of the wider market in terms of competitors, industry at wide and technical innovations.  You will need to be pragmatic, flexible, dedicated, and thrive within a fast-paced environment.

This is a contractor role for a 3 month basis with a great brand to create further prospects and opportunities for the future.  Can be fully remote or based from our Bradley Stoke office in Bristol.

 

Role purpose

As Contract Digital/Agile Business Analyst at the RAC you will work closely with the respective business managers to agree and provide the product/programme/project with business expertise, in order to shape the delivery, providing appropriate solution options and estimates to deliver business outcomes.  Your assignments will be complex and might be across a programme or project(s) related to the product, typically less than £1m.

 

You can expect on a day-to-day basis to:

Product analysis:

  • Define end-to-end user journeys to provide simple and compelling user experiences
  • Build the feature roadmaps, maintain the product backlog, and prioritise features alongside the Architects, Business Partners and business stakeholders ensuring it aligns with the Technology strategy.
  • Feed the design and development delivery engine based on personas, journeys, features, epics, and stories – always staying a step ahead
  • Define acceptance criteria and validate the product delivery for robust implementation.
  • Support the Digital or to Product managers / owners to maintain a technical roadmap and sprint plan
  • Support and drive the test automation strategy for each product release
  • Provide leadership to business analysts and Designers and UAT in the definition and delivery of product increments
  • Managing expectations and competing requests from different demand teams
  • Working with scrum master and agile project managers for planning releases
  • Leads the continuous improvement strategy across the product
  • Makes product owner decisions necessary in daily scrums to advance progress of all projects
  • Solves product-related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product.
  • Define features & stories to support end to end customer journeys.
  • Maintain and monitor the product backlog to ensure development changes are rationalised and prioritised.
  • Define quality and acceptance criteria for product and process changes and ensure delivered changes meet the criteria, or work to define and agree exceptions where required.
  • Review and assess the impact of proposed product changes and provide documented assessments of viable options so that solutions can be agreed and defined.
  • Be a central point of reference for all technical change related to the product, communicating clearly how changes can impact one another.
  • Feed plans/sprints with requirements which may take the form of personas, journeys, features, epics, and stories.

We will ideally be looking for someone who can showcase the following applied experience:

  • Minimum 3 years Business Analyst experience
  • Experience with a definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products
  • Experience using tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Trello, or similar Agile project management tools

 

To become the successful Digital/Agile Business Analyst Contractor, we will require you to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the end to end project lifecycle with experience, skills/knowledge, and ability to in the following areas:

  • Product ownership in a significant IT development programme
  • Ideally BCS qualified (Int. Diploma in BA)
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner qualification
  • Good knowledge of the insurance industry regulation and legislation (FCA / TCF)
  • Detailed knowledge of agile requirements definition; requirements management, solution processes and associated techniques
  • Experienced using Jira and Confluence for documenting requirements and backlog management
  • Ideally some experience of waterfall requirements definition.
