Business Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join us on a 3-month contract position initially (very strong possibility of extension), working on one of our government digital transformation projects. This contract is a remote working role with some travel required on the odd occasion in London. (Must be based in the UK). We are looking for the Business Analyst to start ASAP.


Key responsibilities:

  • Ability to work in partnership with the technical architect.
  • Ability to analyse the AS-IS and identify issues.
  • Develop mitigating strategies in partnership with the wider team.
  • Documented mapping of all cross-cutting policy and sector areas with respective strategic aims.
  • Prepare service mapping by outlining the existing features of the service, what the client’s needs to replicate and any additional work to meet expected standards.
  • Heat mapped to reflect importance and influence to be agreed and signed off by the programme delivery manager.
  • Identify and document services and prepare a document that sets out an appraisal structure which informs the current as-is state of existing services to be signed off by the programme delivery manager.
  • Roadmap, proposition, and prioritisation of services delivered with recommendation for next phase’s delivery approach including timescales and costs.
  • Evaluate organisational interactions in the service, in terms of data, technology, people and processes.


Key skills:

  • BA experience gained on large projects in public sector/government environments.
  • Experience working in agile environments and familiarity with live projects (over discovery/alpha).
  • Solid experience managing product backlogs and stored appropriately.
  • Good working knowledge of GDS service standards.
  • Workshop facilitation and conducting ceremonies.
  • Experience in analysing and mapping of exiting business process and proposal of improvements.
  • Discover, refine and write-up business needs and related user stories.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
