Digital Business Analyst -  Inside IR35

Contract Term: 6 months        

Contracting Authority: DHSC Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency

Location: Remote

This is a high-profile role delivering business analysis services for our portfolio, programmes and projects. You are pivotal in understanding and analysing user and business needs. You will ensure outcomes are aligned with service vision and business strategy by contributing to the link between current and future business models and delivering to the business architecture You will work directly with all key stakeholders in the business to understand and document key business opportunities that align with the overall Agency needs and the individual divisional business needs.

As a Digital Business Analyst, your main responsibilities would be: 

  • To Set the direction and embed good service design practice within our teams
  • To Work with senior product owners and stakeholders to develop design concepts and lead service design activities across multiple projects on the roadmap.
  • To coach teams to ensure they take a user-centred, evidence-based approach to the design and delivery of services, by developing designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes
  • To work on designing, prototyping and building of new digital services, that are user-centred and accessible. You will also work closely and collaboratively with product managers to look at how to enhance and improve existing services.
  • To report directly to the Head of User Centred Design within the Technology, Digital, Data and Delivery Division of the MHRA
  • Educate colleagues in user-centred design and service design when necessary

You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • Leading the team and business to reach a consensus on an agreed minimum viable product (MVP) that will reach and attain benefits realisation and ensure the modelling of business processes data and systems meet these requirements.
  • Identifying Business needs
  • Identifying, agreeing and producing all required business analysis products in a timely manner at appropriate project stages, working with all levels of the business to define and document these.
  • Establishing, maintaining and owning the business analysis plan of the project and programme and provide input into the overall plan.
  • Delivering high quality business analysis content for the project or programme business cases and co-ordinate any specialist input.
  • Conducting and maintaining all business analysis output to cover the lifecycle of the project and programme.
  • Working alongside other digital colleagues, including business service design, to identify and compare the best processes and delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes.
  • Ensuring smooth transition of ongoing business analysis activities from the design phase to implementation and delivery of the project while working effectively with testing partners, training partners, change managers and the business in defining acceptance criteria or tests for the new initiatives and for setting business readiness principles.
  • Influencing stakeholders and managing relationships effectively;
  • Ensuring business analysis outputs are captured and agreed by all stakeholders; and
  • Ensuring those in the projects and programmes are positively engaged
