As an IT procurement assistant your main responsibilities would be: 

Assisting in the interface between CIO functional areas and the Commercial department in relation to all supplier and commercial issues including:

  • Assessing demand for 3rd party provided services
  • Validating specification of requirements and identifying desired contracting approach (resource contact v output-based contract)
  • Instruct the Commercial department to initiate procurement activity and agree optimum procurement mechanism on smaller procurements
  • Identify contracts approaching expiry and action accordingly
  • Initiate supplier relationship management process for suppliers
  • Support functional area in relation to any delivery, performance or other disputes
  • Write and produce detailed business cases with inout from stakeholder

 

You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • IT procurement category &/or IT supplier management
  • hands on experience in a procurement officer / admin role.
  • creating Business justification documents
  • relating commercial principles to technical context and vice versa
  • end to end approvals process (drafting, benefits/risk identification, presentation, challenge response)
  • managing stakeholders at varying levels
  • a variety of sourcing/vendor engagement processes

 

You’ll also have these Qualifications/Skills:

  • Commercial qualification such as CIPS, IACCM, ITIL or similar or working towards
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills – verbal and written – with ability to liaise at all levels, including Board level
