Pay: up to £360/d (via Umbrella ONLY)

As the External Data Acquisition Manager you will be primarily responsible for the technical & vendor oversight of external vendor data solutions (eg. central labs, biomarkers, scans etc) for clinical and epidemiological studies managed internally.
In this role you will ensure external vendor data solutions are consistent and comply with
company and industry standards with respect to quality and timelines.

The responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Lead project team in successful ingestion of external vendor data to GSK systems
  • Act as a key point of contact/advisor for key stakeholders and the Study Core Teams (SCT) members - including the Study Data Manager, Data Standards and external vendors
  • Coordinates review, revision, and approval of study specification documents (including Data Transfer Agreement & specifications), key vendor deliverables and internal tracking documentation
  • Provides input to study design, the clinical protocol, study planning and review of study documents as appropriate
  • Assist in creation of training documentation
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively plan, prioritize and co-ordinate multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities to deliver results to tight deadlines
  • Ensures quality control and quality audit of deliverables
  • Understands, mediates and solves issues related to external vendor data and escalate as appropriate to key stake holder
  • Act as s a Subject Matter Expert for Vendor data, contribute to the implementation of new external vendor data processes, associated written standards, trainings, vendor selection & quality assessments, audits and inspections.



Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mathematics and Physics or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years in similar or related job experience in Clinical Research or Information Systems and/or Project Management
  • Experienced in Data Management in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experienced in external vendor data solutions (at Vendor or Sponsor side)
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, time management, and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Post Graduate degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mathematics and Physics or equivalent
  • SAS Programming – For transforming niche vendor data to GSK standard
  • Experience of managing business remotely in a matrix network
  • Understanding of general data flow & database architecture concepts
  • Good understanding of regulations including ICH-GCP
  • Strong knowledge / experienced in IT tools and validation methodology
