Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for transforming our web analytics data into simpler datasets that our analysts can use for building reports, dashboards, and analysis.
  • You will lead on optimizing data storage, query performance and overall storage and analysis cost in BigQuery.
  • You will help analysts set up materialised views, optimise large queries, automate manual tasks to create an automated process to get Google Analytics data into reports and dashboards.
  • You will establish optimal workflows to load data from other sources into BigQuery.
  • You will set up pipelines to get data from BigQuery into a visualization tool (e.g. MicroStrategy/ Excel) or another platform (Ad Manager).
  • You will help our data scientists take model prototypes and scale them out to production level models that can handle terabytes of real-time data.

Skills And Experience

  • Has experience supporting an Analytics or Data Science team
  • Has worked with BigQuery and Google’s other data tools (Dataproc, Dataflow, etc).
  • Has exposure to building and designing big datasets (ideally, Google Analytics or other semi structured data).
  • Strong SQL as well as a programming language such as Python, Java or R are essential.
  • Understands basic machine learning algorithms and tools and has run machine learning pipelines in production
  • Is comfortable working in dynamic environment with a certain degree of uncertainty
  • Can mentor analysts and data scientists and share some of the skills you’ve learnt

The role

We are looking for a talented data engineer to support our Analytics team set up the right data infrastructure expand on our data vision and inspire best practices for data and analytics products across the wider organisation. You will work with Analysts, Data Scientists, and a Data Architect to adjust our data practices according to your experience and findings.
