Contract Description

The MoJ Probation Workforce Programme is looking to recruit an analytical modeller to support the transition to unification of Community Rehabilitation Companies back into the Probation Service in June 2021. Crucial to this is to fully understand the workforce picture in advance of transition.

The postholder will be responsible for:

  • Building relationships with operational and analytical experts to develop and iterate technical workforce analysis models to support business decisions for the Probation Service.
  • Using a variety of techniques to tackle complex analytical problems to develop workforce modelling across the Probation programme.
  • Ensuring robust quality assurance of own models/analysis and supporting the quality assurance of analysis across the wider team in line with Aqua Book guidance.
  • Clearly communicating complex analysis to non-technical customers and senior leaders.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Very strong general qualitative analysis skills
  • Excellent R or Python skills and experience of applying these to tackle a range of complex analytical problems including to automate existing processes and produce data visualisations 
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of using Quality Assurance techniques to ensure robust analysis (i.e. to Aqua Book Standards)
  • The ability to present complex financial information clearly, both verbally and in writing, to support decision-making.

General skills

  • Experience of working with senior management/director-level managers, and a wide range of teams and contacts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

The following experience and skills are desirable:

  • Experience of the criminal justice system.
