Background:

In Spring 2020, GMB commissioned an independent investigation into sexual harassment and our organisational culture. The investigation and subsequent report found that GMB was institutionally sexist and that bullying and harassment exist within our structures.

In Winter 2020, we created a taskforce responsible for ensuring that the recommendations made in the Monaghan Report of 2020, together with the recommendations of an earlier report, The Dr Elizabeth Henry report, are enacted, to bring about the transformational change needed in our organisation.

In 2021 GMB appointed Helen Mott, a highly experienced sexual harassment and gender equality consultant experienced in transforming workplace culture, to lead the task force on implementing the recommendations of both reports.

A vacancy has arisen for a highly skilled Project Manager to join GMB’s taskforce project working alongside Helen Mott to steer the work of the taskforce and bring about the transformational culture change GMB needs. The role’s predominant focus will be in taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery of a single-focus project, ensuring that the project’s objectives are met and delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.
