Contract Description

We are recruiting for an experienced GraphQL API Specialist to join a project in Central London. As the GraphQL API lead, you will work as part of a small but growing team, you will own the API design, infrastructure and support of one of our API platforms team as a technical lead leasing with customers. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, product managers, API engineers and DevOps to define and build GraphQL API solutions as well as manage the design/architecture for day to day operations of the API platform. This is a very hand-on role which will require deep technical knowledge, 50/50 split in development and design/architecture.

Please note, the suitable candidate will be able to start within the next two weeks and will have UK Security Clearance (SC). We will consider candidates who do not have SC clearance, as long as you can demonstrate GraphQL experience using Springboot and Java.

Essential Criteria:

  • Have demonstrable experience of successfully designing and implementing Public and Private API frameworks in cloud.

  • Have demonstrable experience of design and implementation of API policy management frameworks and AWS API Gateway

  • Have demonstrable experience in API security (GraphQL/SOAP/REST) and industry standard best practices to secure a public/private API hosted in cloud.

  • Have demonstrable hands-on experience designing and developing GraphQL APIs using SprintBoot and Java

  • Have demonstrable hands-on experience of implementing security patterns for protecting GraphQL APIs.

  • Have demonstrable experience of successfully delivering digital solutions that collect and manage personal and/or sensitive information with appropriate controls and protection.

  • Have demonstrable experience of implementing API in AWS cloud utilising AWS products and services.

  • Have demonstrable experience of documenting low level design and ability to work in an established design and governance process.

Nice to have criteria

  • Have demonstrable hands-on experience of Java, API Gateways, SOAP & Resful APIs, JWT, JWS/JWE, JOSE.

  • Have demonstrable experience of successfully design, implementation and migration of SOAP based API services from Legacy technologies utilising Amazon AWS.

  • Have demonstrable experience of migrating applications and services from traditional data centre and infrastructure, network, to AWS cloud.
