HMRC is looking for a Project Manager with a Procurement focus – Contract (Multiple Roles)

This is a REMOTE 12 month initial contract INSIDE IR35 


We need someone to start ASAP. This role is fully remote. The office base is London or Telford, if you were commutable to that office it would help in the future (after the initial 6 months) but not essential. 


HMRC collects over £600 billion in tax annually to fund vital public services and has the ambition to be one of the most digitally advanced tax authorities in the world. Technology is at the heart of our transformation.


This huge Programme will address HMRC’s entire IT and enable the development and implementation of an industry-leading technology supply chain model, establishing partnerships with IT vendors, IT suppliers, software providers to deliver innovation, reduce risk in our estate, improve cost effectiveness, provide flexibility and protect live services. 


About the job

We have multiple contract vacancies for Project Managers experienced in large project based IT procurement project management.


You'll be a Senior Project or Program Manager with proven expertise in working on high impact, complex and technology-based procurement exercises both in public and private sector.


Experience MUST include:-

  • Major project procurement management working with procurement professionals managing policy and process creation, design and roll-out, extensive contract negotiation and sub-contract procurement management. 
  • Supporting technology projects to go to market and knowledge of government frameworks would be advantageous.
  • Project management of high value, high profile and complex procurements including running the bid process, production of ITTs and scoring and evaluation of submissions


Essential skills

  • Strong project management experience with in-depth knowledge of the Procurement process
  • Leadership of complex contracting and transformation initiatives
  • Ability and confidence to manage and influence stakeholders
  • An understanding of relevant public sector procurement regulations
  • Project and Programme management professional qualification.
