Contract Term

The AWS DevOps Engineer will join for a period of up to 4 months on a contract basis. The engineer will be tasked to deliver a key project within this time frame, working outside IR35. 

The Engineer will implement technical solutions using AWS services with SAM, CI/CD and following the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Many of the solutions developed and implemented will require continuous uptime and millisecond latency responses, so experience with scaling, availability and resilience is a must.

Key Responsibilities

• Help to build enterprise-level millisecond-latency integrations and applications using the AWS suite of services.
• Ensure that IAM is used to control access.
• Ensure projects are implemented on time and on budget.
• Ensure that the solutions developed and implemented are secure and robust, comply with best practice and regulatory requirements.
• Critically appraise existing Lambda libraries and implementations and suggest improvements.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Very experienced with Lambda (Python), AWS Step Functions, API Gateway, Cognito, DynamoDB.
• Very Experienced with AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Solid experience of AWS scaling strategies and implementation.
• Extensive experience of Pinpoint, SNS, SQS.
• Experience of CI/CD.
• Good experience of SAM.
• Expert at development using Python.

Desirable

• In-depth Understanding of RESTful API
• Advanced DynamoDB including streams / TTL etc.
• AWS Connect
• AWS Pinpoint
• AWS Lex
• AWS Rekognition
• AWS Kinesis
• One or more AWS associate or professional certifications
