Role: Oracle PL/ SQL Developer

Start date: 01-Mar-2021

Location: London - Remote till next few months

  • The successful PL / SQL / PLSQL Analyst Programmer will be involved in both new full life cycle development projects as well as enhancement projects around this client 's existing bespoke business critical applications.
  • The successful PL / SQL / PLSQL Analyst Programmer will ideally have strong commercial Oracle PL / SQL (stored procedures, triggers, functions, performance tuning etc.) experience coupled with experience of SOA and UML. Any experience of Java or ADF would be advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity with a truly international end user for an Oracle PL / SQL Analyst Programmer within a technically rich environment.

Role description:

  • Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Codes solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces.
  • Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
  • Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements.
  • Documents and communicates required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Participates, contributes and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events. e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes. Individual contributor.

Primary Skills:

  • Solid developer - Oracle database development, code documentation and unit testing.
  • PL/SQL development and SQL programming.
  • Web development.

Must Haves:

  • 5 to 8 + years of experience Oracle SQL and Oracle PL SQL
  • Analyst/Developer experience (think independently and provide solutions)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with SQL, PL/SQL
  • Basic knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software.
  • Basic knowledge of design techniques and principals involved in production of drawings and models.

  • Debugging and modifying existing application code
  • Database design and development
  • Installing configuration of applications and maintaining environments
  • Planning skills - ability to think ahead and be proactive
