Contract Description

DevOps Analyst

  • Actively working with clients on Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps solutions, designs, and delivery programmes.
  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing design standards and patterns for infrastructure and system components
  • Establishing and creating deployment and provisioning techniques and tooling across the development teams using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
  • Working with our architecture teams to identify the best platform technologies and process for our clients
  • Security and access control to services and resources, data security and protection.
  • Observability, integrating SaaS APM, Log Aggregation and Metrics collection and visualisations
  • Assist with defining NFRs and SLAs for infrastructure build and operations
  • Support PreProd and Prod service sizing
  • Assist with costings for Azure infrastructure and SaaS solutions
  • Assist with infrastructure rollout planning; prioritisation, dependency mapping, etc
  • Own quality of infra tooling build / ensure adherence to best practice
  • Own CDN and networking design for both front door and downstream integrations
  • Own infra design to support phased rollout of services to end customers
  • Own design of observability platforms and integration with third party tools
  • Assist with documentation of security view of the architecture including patching, secure management of data in transit and at rest, secrets management, etc
  • Assist with Ops team engagement as part of Service Transition

We need you to be really great at:

  • Expert level understanding of DevOpsSec principles and ability to translate that into working designs for supporting tooling

Azure Cloud Provisioning – DNS, API Management, Functions, Virtual Machines, Load Balancers, Blob Storage, Cosmos DB, Queue Storage, AKS, Log Analytics/Monitor - with hands-on experience using IaC

Azure DevOps - practical experience with Pipelines, Artifacts, Test Plans and Repos

Understanding and communicating the strengths and weaknesses of:

  • Infrastructure and Configuration as Code
  • Safe deployment strategies and CI/CD
  • Cloud-based and cloud-native system design
  • Observability
  • Developer Experience
  • DevOps and SRE

Working with our clients to deliver the best cloud infrastructure solutions as part of an experienced cross-disciplinary team with hands-on experience and involvement with leading the design, development and deployment of business applications at scale.

Acting as a technical authority with customer facing skills to engage and steer discussions on best practice and risk mitigation.


If you know any of this even better

  • Experience in a Commerce environment
  • Experience supporting commodity cloud provider infrastructure in production environments
  • Familiarity with multiple programming languages - Typescript, Java, Groovy, Golang, PHP - and their testing frameworks
  • Experience in network configuration, management and security in a cloud environment
  • Experience with Kubernetes, and familiarity with cloud provider implementations
  • Hands-on with Terraform – familiarity with the ecosystem (Terragrunt, Terratest, Inspec)
  • Experience with Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible
  • Management of automation tooling – Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, Github Actions
  • Experience with automated testing tools (ie. Selenium, JMeter)
  • Strong scripting skills, i.e. Bash, Powershell, Python, Ruby, Perl, etc
