Working to the Head of Product Management, this role is accountable for directing the delivery of one or more Care Quality Commission (CQC) core digital products or services by leading a plan of work across the team.

The post builds, maintains and motivates a team, ensuring there is an iterative plan to work towards to deliver change driven by the Target Operating Model. This includes management of risks, budgets and people.

As Delivery Manager, you will: 

  • To build and lead a team to provide agile practices for digital product delivery.
  • Delivering complex digital projects across the organisation.
  • Create agile working environments, identifying people and resources for the team.
  • Accountable for leading agile meetings which may include daily scrums and stand-ups and facilitating related activity.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members and others to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques to ensure consistency, helping teams organise themselves to deliver products and services that meet users’ needs.
  • To support and coach Delivery Managers in their roles.
  • May have some line management responsibility for Delivery Managers.
  • Managing the resources of the delivery management team.
  • Ensuring teams and programmes understand their objectives, vision and goals and that these align across the organisation.
  • To engage with senior stakeholders from across the business to ensure involvement in the product or service development
  • Communicating and visualising progress towards these goals.
  • Managing and addressing risks, issues and dependencies, identifying obstacles to project delivery and help the team overcome them.
  • Challenging and improving processes and guiding teams through the implementation of new processes
  • To manage, support and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team.
  • Communicating across the organisation, listening to the needs of the technical and business stakeholders and interpreting between them.
  • Managing stakeholder’s expectations.
  • Measuring and evaluating outcomes.

You will:

  • Educated to degree or equivalent qualification level, or ability to demonstrate appropriate work-based experience
  • Extensive proven experience in delivering digital projects and products
  • Experience using a range of agile project management methods/frameworks for complex, high risk and/or large-scale project
  • In depth understanding of the digital landscape
  • Experience of managing, leading and motivating teams
  • Ability to matrix-manage multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to convey both technical and non-technical messages
  • Experience of producing and delivering plans and reports for senior and executive teams.
  • Experience of complex problem identification and resolution, including recognised approaches.
  • Ability to take a continuous approach to planning, including people and budgets
  • Understanding of CQC and the regulatory environment is desirable
