Are you looking for your next challenge? We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented Lean Consultant with clean room experience to work with our teams in the UK technical centre in Crowborough, East Sussex.

The Lean Consultant will help deliver operational turnaround and business transformation across our production floor.

This will initially be a 6-9-month contract.


Job description:

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Drive quick initial short-term gains in order to release cash to invest in longer transformation targets, all the while demonstrating a ‘Return on Investment’ (ROI).
  • Drive rapid, significant, and sustainable improvement in on-time delivery and lead-time within world-class manufacturing businesses.
  • Passionately drive continuous improvement culture while implementing the strategic roadmap to achieve breakthrough performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, growth and working capital.
  • Ensure key manufacturing metrics and KPI systems are implemented and consistently tracking the appropriate measures, therefore driving appropriate behaviours.
  • Ensure effective allocation of resources across all areas of the operation to accomplish customer-driven priorities.
  • Implement and optimize LEAN methodology across multi-region & multi-site production environments.
  • Determine and track expected productivity improvement and savings and ties savings to P&L and EBITDA improvement.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in clean room environments ideally low volume, highly technical production areas
  • Understands Health and Safety, ensuring all required considerations are integrated into any solutions
  • Extensive hands on experience in continuous improvement manufacturing activities with established operations leadership experience in distribution, warehousing, or manufacturing
  • Track record of significant performance improvement and strong application knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and related CI tools (TAKT, TPM, Lean, Six Sigma) within a complex manufacturing facility
  • Operational performance improvement and cost out delivery experience in both stable and financially stressed organisations
  • Demonstrated track record of driving operational excellence through Lean principles
  • Experience leading large cross-functional or multi-location projects and timelines in consulting and world-class manufacturers
  • Solid experience of LEAN with a proven track of achievement
  • On the personal level it is very important that you possess developed skills in influencing and persuasion so this will naturally require solid relationship skills
  • Experience bringing improvements based on Value Stream and Communicating the next steps towards future state in a way that our technicians understand
  • Significant implementation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to create impact & connect with our workforce
  • High degree of credibility, integrity and resourcefulness, combining strong manufacturing and technical abilities with overall management & leadership acumen

Essential Educational/Professional qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering, Operations, Management, or related discipline
  • Accredited Lean practitioner. Minimum requirement- Six Sigma Black Belt
