iSYSTEMS is an innovative and dynamic IT infrastructure and hybrid cloud services and solutions provider. We guide our customers through the complexities of cloud, virtualisation, storage, DR, hyperconverged and software defined architecture through independent consulting.
We are delivering a major project on behalf of a key client and are looking a Technical Consultant/Architect to work alongside an internal infrastructure team expanding the existing UAT platform to support a second test environment. The plan is to reuse an existing platform to spin up a new database and related application components on the same physical infrastructure and there will likely be a requirement for some additional storage capacity etc to facilitate a second database and server instances.
Along with the Architecture piece, iSYSTEMS is looking for someone to design an approach that introduces partitioning onto key tables. We plan to review the recommendation and present to our Solution Design Authority. There will likely be some design iteration of the existing Smart Solution to follow should the options paper recommend changes.
The outcome of this project is to deliver an ADF (Architectural Decision Form) along with both High and Low level-Design iterations.
Role and Responsibilities:
Skills / Experience
- Solution / Technical Architecture
- Capable of understanding the end to end processes sufficiently to replicating the existing environment (St Clements will provide consultancy on app / integration)
- Experience and familiarity of the following technologies to enough low level to create the technical design (some consultancy from internal SME’s available):
- IBM P-Series Server Hardware / AIX version 7 OS with Lpars for OS virtualisation
- Oracle 11 Database
- SAN Storage
- Integration
- Oracle optimising, tuning and partitioning – design (Oracle DBA available for consultancy)
- Experience and familiarity of the following technologies to create the technical design (some consultancy from internal SME’s available):
- Underpinning platform is based upon Oracle T-Series SPARC HW
- Solaris OS 10/11 with LDOMs for server virtualisation
- Oracle Database 11/12 & SAN Storage.
- SAN Storage
