NHS Professionals manages thetemporarywork placement (bank) at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, and we are looking for an IT Support Services Technician to support the Health Informatics department.

Rotherham Hospital which is situated just two miles south of Rotherham town centre, within proximity to the M1 and M18 motorways, six miles from Sheffield and close to Doncaster.

Job Title and Grade: IT Support Services Technician (Band 5)

Location:Moorgate Road, Rotherham, S60 2UD

Department:Health Informatics Department

Pay rate: £13.79 per hour

Duration:04/01/2021 to 31/03/2021

Hours of Work: Full Time, 37.5hours/week to be worked Monday-Friday, 08.30am -16.30pm

Responsibilities will cover several areas such as:

  • 2nd line support of desktop/client applications.
  • Supports and maintains all PCs, Laptop, MCAs and peripherals.
  • In the field or remotely, provide basic triage of application issues, effecting or suggesting alternate routes to resolution for both technical and known application issues.
  • On a rotational basis, to act as incident manager for the IT Support Services team
  • Support and maintenance of desktop and mobile computer devices.
  • Support and maintenance of peripheral devices including but not limited to printers, scanners and barcode readers.
  • Diagnosis and resolution of hardware and software issues across the desktop environment.
  • Configuration and deployment of computer and peripheral devices.
  • Application of standard images as part of the deployment or support of computer equipment.
  • Patching of end user networked devices back to edge switches (port level).
  • Provide 2nd Level Support for hardware and software including the maintenance and re-building of computer equipment.
  • Deployment of new systems and technologies.
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers and maintainer’s e.g. Dell, HP, TPP, Connecting for Health Service Desk.
  • Log and report any service disruptions.

Qualifications:

  • HND (or equivalent) in a relevant technical subject (Essential)
  • Degree or equivalent occupational / professional qualification or experience (Essential)
  • Technical Qualifications such as MCSE, MCP or A+ Certification (Desirable)
  • Prince2 or similar project management methodology (Desirable)
  • ITIL Foundation level or higher (Desirable)
