Contract Term: 3 Months – Possibility of extension

Location: London – Home working with 1 or 2 days onsite in Smiths Square, London

We are looking for a Business Support Manager to work within the Service Operations Centre (SOC), COO function.  Working into the Head of SOC, you will be focused on the successful day to day running of the SOC team.


As Business Support Manager, you will: 

  • Develop a working understanding of the service and the key stakeholders for the SOC
  • Build effective working relationships both internally within SOC and across the service
  • Support the effective running of internal meetings and communications – taking a leadership role where required
  • Support the integration of the SOC team into the wider organisation and governance structures
  • Take responsibility for leading the development and upkeep of SOC confluence pages
  • Represent the SOC and / or provide secretariat support for senior meetings attended by SOC leadership team
  • Take responsibility for key administrative activities within the team (budget, recruitment, planning etc.)
  • Provide oversight of internal processes acting proactively to identify risks or issues within the team
  • Act as a single point of contact for the team as required for ad hoc projects and corporate activities, including both IT and departmental matters

 

You will:

  • Have background and experience in a directly comparable or similar role (e.g. Chief of Staff)
  • Project Management / PMO
  • Knowledge Management (using JIRA Confluence or another similar platform)
  • Budget management

 

It would be great if you:

  • Are highly motivated self-starter with good communication skills, proactivity and assertiveness, who is adaptable and confident with the ability to prioritise a busy workload with conflicting priorities.
  • Have influencing skills and the ability to manage upwards and speak with authority when dealing with senior staff, excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and reliable under pressure.
  • Can act in a highly confidential manner and exercise discretion.
  • Are resilient, persuasive, resourceful and prepared to learn quickly to deliver high standards
  • Are curious, with an appetite to learn
