As Lead IT Procurement Professional you will: 

  • Leading consulting and advisory services to Public Sector on IT Products
  • The post holder will be accountable for creation and delivery of the commercial strategy for TP&S IT Product category. 

The key objectives of the role are: -

  • Creation of an IT Product & Peripherals procurement strategy
  • Creation of MOU’s with key IT Hardware Vendors
  • Creation of a UK wide business plan on how the existing HMG IT Product assets can be reused where cost appropriate.
  • Implementation of the above procurement strategies  - setting up and delivering the new procurement routes
  • Ensuring customers (Public Sector organisations) understand the best practice for IT Hardware procurement.
  • Supporting the design, delivery and implementation of a ne IT Hardware procurement system.
  • Ensuring a level playing field for suppliers to bid for Public Sector business. Implementing Strategic SRM for IT Product  providers. (working with the existing CO Crown Reps)
  • Ensuring the implementation of Social Value via the agreements.
  • Marketing the strategies to CCS and Public Sector employees


You’ll have:

  • Excellent communication and consultative skills to building strong relationships with stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
  • Developed innovative category, product and sourcing strategies demonstrating unrelenting focus on customer service and deep market insight.
  • Ability to switch between big picture strategy and operational detail, innovating to create ways of overcoming problems and deliver positive outcomes and solutions exceeding customer expectations whilst balancing risk (including savings and other benefits);
  • Delivered Strategic Supplier Management enhancing category and supplier performance.
  • In depth knowledge of IT Procurements
  • Experience working with Public Sector Procurement frameworks and regulations

It would be great to also have:

  • MCIPS qualification
